Calcium Stearate is widely utilized in various industries as flow agent, surface conditioner, waterproofing agent, and as lubricant. It has molecular formula C36H70CaO4 with molar mass of 607.03 g/mol. This chemical appears as yellowish-white powder with density of 1.08 g/cm3 and melting point of 155 degrees Celsius. It also finds application in cosmetics & pharmaceutical industries as anti-tack, mold release, and gelling agent. Calcium Stearate is known to have ability to improve pigment wetting hence is utilized in plastic colorant concentrates. It shows very low solubility in water with insolubility in alcohol & ether.
